Idea 1. Only do one thing.
This is an idea that came to me from my Inner Elder. It works. I think. I’ll have to check in with you tomorrow to make sure.
Idea 2. Listen to your Inner Elder.
We’ve heard for decades about our Inner Child. That child has gotten all the attention, and for good reason. She/he/they need to be heard, for sure. But not at the expense of our Inner Elder. My Inner elder is the one I want driving the bus. She knows how to read maps and street signs and her feet reach the pedals and everything. I’ll say more about this in another post, but this is to just plant the seed, if it wasn’t already there.
Listen to your Inner Elder. They know way more than you think they do.
Idea 3. Do something with a friend, in person.
We have enough online activities to bury our senses with. These activities are not bad. They’re just everywhere, and they don’t need to be.
Let’s roll up our sleeves and make room, really make room, for sitting with a friend and shooting the breeze. Or sitting in silence. It could even be your spouse, if you have one. They’re the ones that get shunted off to the side most often. I know mine does.
Don’t do that. Love your wife. Love your husband. Love your friends. Remember them. Remember them in the moment, when it counts.
