This is beautiful, thank you for sharing. I’ve tried similar exercises with equal success. We seem to be able to turn down the volume of our conscious (unconscious human) brain far easier than we realize—despite the fact we do it so much more rarely than we ought to. I’ve never tried writing a love letter to myself, but may need to try this today. One similar ‘move’ I sometimes do and have told others to try is to take your hand with your other hand and lift it up to your mouth and kiss it gently on top the way a lover would. Self-love is love.
Sean! So happy to see you here. Try it today. I love your practice as well, and will fold it into mine. Sending you and Andy my warmest best wishes. Many blessings…
You’re doing alright. I need you to know this more than anything else. In some ways, you’re doing absolutely incredible, in fact, but even if you didn’t have those incredible attributes to back you up, like all your books, you’d still be doing juuuuuust fine. Okay? Do you believe me? Good.
I know you get discouraged—by others as well as with yourself—but it’s important to look at your life, your career, your passions, and your relationships from the big picture. Of all the choices you could have made in life, the résumé you’ve built for yourself is amazing.
Yes, you have made poor choices too, usually on the gluttony and lust side of the spectrum. But you know those are poor life choices, right? It’s not like you celebrate or promote them. And after all, you’re alive. Living life is normal.
So yeah, when you weigh the good and the not so good, the amazing and the not so amazing, you’re doing alright. Better than alright. You’re doing very, very well overall, and you should be proud of the man you’ve become—because he’s the man you’ve chosen to be.
Hi Doreen. When you do, you’ll see what I mean. Sending waves of blessings
This was so touching and especially ... loving. I should try it.
